Recover server structure confidently

Kyvera backups capture Discord server structure so administrators can recover from accidental channel or role changes.

01

What a backup contains

Categories and channels

Names, types, ordering, category relationships, topics, and supported channel settings.

Roles

Role names, colors, ordering, and supported Discord permission values.

Permission overwrites

Supported channel-specific permissions for roles represented in the backup.

Backups do not contain messages, member accounts, avatars, emojis, stickers, integrations, or webhooks.

02

Create a snapshot

  1. 1
    Open Server Backups

Choose a descriptive name that explains the state you are protecting.

  2. 2
    Create backup

Kyvera reads the current server layout and stores the snapshot for that server.

  3. 3
    Confirm the timestamp

Check that the new snapshot appears before making large structural changes.

03

Restore safely

  • Create a fresh backup immediately before any restore.
  • Tell staff that channels and roles may move during reconstruction.
  • Confirm Kyvera has Manage Channels and Manage Roles.
  • Keep the Kyvera role above roles it needs to reconstruct.
  • After restoration, run Setup Diagnostics for stale module references.
  • Review welcome, logging, tickets, announcements, and role menus after channel changes.

A restore reconstructs structure and may create new Discord IDs. Any module that referenced a replaced channel or role must be reviewed afterward.

Check references after a restore

Setup Diagnostics identifies missing or inaccessible configured channels and roles.
